On Friday, June 9th, the police in Baramulla rescued approximately 250 visitors from the Gulmarg resort who had taken a gondola to Affarwat.
According to police sources, a mechanical malfunction in the cable car prevented the visitors from returning to the Gondola base at Gondola Phase II Affarwat.

According to reports, the Gulmarg police station’s rescue crews, commanded by SHO PS Gulmarg Insp. Irshad Ahmad and supported by Gondola Car Corporation employees, quickly responded to the situation. “After strenuous night efforts, they rescued the stranded tourists and brought them back to Gulmarg base safely,” the police said. The visitors were quite appreciative with the prompt response of the Baramulla Police.
