Baramulla, June 27: As part of their efforts to get rid of drugs as a social problem, police have caught three drug dealers in Baramulla and found illegal drugs on them.

On specific information that illegal drugs were in the home of Gh Mohammad Tantray, a resident of Mulgam Kunzer, a group of police led by the SHO PS Kunzer and supervised by the SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmad, along with the Executive Magistrate, raided the house. During the search of the house, 13 kg of a material that looked like poppy straw was found on the accused, who tried to run away but was caught with skill. He has been taken to the police office and is being held there.

During checking at Khawajabagh Baramulla, a group of police led by SHO PS Baramulla and supervised by DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad caught a strange person who tried to leave the area but was caught with care. During a search, 150 grammes of something that looked like Charas was found in his possession. He was caught and taken to the police station, where he is still being held.

Also, a police team led by Incharge PP Wagoora and supervised by SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf stopped a Load Carrier with the registration number JK05B-1259 and a driver named Ishfaq Ahmad Kaloo from Sher Colony Sopore. This happened at a checkpoint set up at Vizer Wagoora. During the search, 9.5Kgs of something that looked like poppy straw was found in his possession. He was caught and taken to the police station, where he is still being held. A car that was used in a crime has also been taken away.

So, reports have been filed at the appropriate police posts under the right parts of the law, and more research has begun.

“Members of the community are asked to speak up if they know anything about drug dealing in their area. People who are caught selling drugs will be dealt with according to the law. The police said, “Our consistent actions against drug dealers should reassure the community that we are trying to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.”
