On Thursday morning (15 June) in the Sinthan-Top region of Kishtwar, a vehicle carrying two young men went off the road and crashed into a canyon, killing one and injuring the other.
According to SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal, an Alto Car was travelling from Anantnag to Kishtwar when the driver lost control on a bend near Kamraj Morh in Sinthan Top. A ravine swallowed the car.
Two people were rescued from the doomed car by the responding police, military, and townspeople. One of them was pronounced dead upon arrival, while the other is now receiving treatment at PHC Chatroo. Latief Ahmed Malik was the name of the dead. Originally from Thamankot Ananatnag, Son of Abdul Rashid Malik.
The victim is 29-year-old Amir Ilyas Wani, son of Mohd Ilyas Wani, resident of Anantnag.The wounded were sent to DH Kishtwar afterwards.
