On Monday, May 29th, a vehicle carrying five persons went off the road in Doda district, plunging into a river, killing four and injuring one. The accident occurred in Srinagar.
According to news agency GNS, citing official sources, the car plunged into Raggi Nallah, prompting a large rescue mission by local volunteers and police.
Two corpses were recovered quickly, and two more were recovered later; one person was rescued and sent to the hospital with injuries. It was first claimed that just two people were inside the truck, but rescuers eventually discovered four corpses and pulled one wounded person to safety.
An official with the police department indicated that a report had been filed in this respect. He said that the car was headed to Jammu from Pul-Doda. The dead person’s identity is also being confirmed, he said.
