Srinagar, June 20: On Tuesday, throughout Jammu and Kashmir, the lowest temperature registered a rise in most locations and settled above average. This was in spite of the fact that the weather prediction called for hot and humid conditions.

According to a report by GNS, which cited an official from the meteorological department, Srinagar recorded a low temperature of 18.2 degrees Celsius, which was higher than the previous night’s reading of 16.9 degrees Celsius and was 2.4 degrees Celsius more than the typical temperature for the summer capital.

He said that Qazigund had a low temperature of 16.2 degrees Celsius, which was higher than the previous night’s 15.2 degrees Celsius, and it was 1.9 degrees Celsius more than the typical temperature for the gateway town of Kashmir.

According to him, Pahalgam, which is located in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, had a low temperature of 9.1 degrees Celsius, which was lower than the previous night’s reading of 9.6 degrees Celsius and 0.5 degrees Celsius higher than the usual temperature for the area.

According to him, the mercury reached 14.1 degrees Celsius in Kupwara town after setting at 13.2 degrees Celsius the previous night. This temperature was 1.3 degrees Celsius more than typical for the north Kashmir region.

According to the authorities, the temperature in Kokernag dropped to 15.4 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 1.4 degrees higher than what is considered average for the area. The previous night’s low was 16.1 degrees Fahrenheit.

According to him, Gulmarg, which is located in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir, reached a low temperature of 10.2 degrees Celsius, which is lower than the previous night’s temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature was higher than average by 1.8 degrees Celsius.

He said that the temperature in Jammu dropped to 26.1 degrees Celsius, which is 0.4 degrees more than what is considered average for the winter capital of J&K, which is Srinagar.

Low temperatures were reported as follows: 17.3 degrees Fahrenheit in Banihal (2.2 degrees above normal), 19.2 degrees Fahrenheit in Batote (2.0 degrees above normal), 23.6 degrees Fahrenheit in Katra (1.6 degrees below normal), and 18.2 degrees Fahrenheit in Bhaderwah (3.3 degrees above normal). According to him, the temperature in Leh, which is in Ladakh, dropped to 8.0 degrees Celsius, while Kargil dropped to 11.9 degrees Celsius. (GNS)

In regard to the weather prediction up to June 23, an official from the MeT department said that while mostly dry weather was anticipated, there is still a possibility of a short run of showers or thunderstorms, most likely in the late afternoon or evening.

According to what he indicated, “hot and humid weather is expected for the next four days in the entire state of J&K.”

According to what he had to say about the forecast for the 24-26th of June, light to moderate rain along with thunder and lightning was predicted to occur in scattered to moderately widespread spots (60%).”
