Srinagar, June 24, KNT: An uptown Srinagar man reportedly died after being struck by an unknown item, believed to have been thrown by his divorcée. The dead man’s family claims that he was tormented and beaten up on a regular basis by his estranged wife and two children; however, this claim has not been verified since the wife and her kids have left the scene.

According to Kashmir News Trust, the dead couple had been living separately in the same home. The mother and her two daughters shared a home.

The pair has not been on speaking terms for the last six years. One of the neighbours said that there was an ongoing legal case over a property dispute.

The victim’s sister claimed that her brother was repeatedly assaulted by the wife and two daughters of the family in question. According to her, her brother had been killed by her sister-in-law and her two nieces.

After the event, police arrived and filed a report under the applicable laws. [KNT]
