Ganderbal, May 26: On Thursday, the Students’ Cultural Club, Department of Law, SLS, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) hosted a mental health awareness session at the Tulmulla Campus.

Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean of SLS, covered several psychological difficulties and recommended students to avoid stress.

Guest presenters from the Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Dr. Neelofer Jan, M.D. Psychiatry, and Dr. Masood Maqbool Mir, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, expounded on various sorts of difficulties and concerns in the mental health arena. They informed the audience about numerous strategies for overcoming psychological issues and described the rehabilitation procedures. Following the talks, there was a question-and-answer session.

Earlier, club mentor Dr. Anil Kumar kicked off the event, while Bilal Ahmad Ganai introduced the speakers and discussed the relevance of the programme. The vote of gratitude was proposed by Gulafroz Jan.

Students participated in numerous exercises and expressed their own experiences and struggles with depression, anxiety, and stress during the second session. M Aslam Khatana conducted it, while Dr. Imran Ahad served as the rapporteur. Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir afterwards awarded prizes and diplomas to the competitors.
