A banner that greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his first official visit to the United States was erected at Times Square in New York City on Wednesday (local time), June 22.

A statement that said, “Indian-American community welcomes honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a historic State visit to the USA,” scrolled over the top of the billboard that featured a picture of PM Modi standing beside US Vice President Joe Biden.

Midtown Manhattan, New York City is home to a district known as Times Square, which is a significant business crossroads as well as a tourist attraction, a centre for entertainment, and a community.

In the meanwhile, a banner with the following message was flown in the skies over Boston to welcome Prime Minister Modi: “Welcome Prime Minister Modi on your historic State visit to the USA.”

From the sky over Boston, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi! “On the occasion of the #HistoricStateVisit2023, @FIANewEngland and members of the diaspora are sending a special message of welcome,” said a tweet from the Consulate General of India in New York.

Earlier on Tuesday, billboards at the Nasdaq exchange displayed photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with slogans welcome him to the United States for a historic state visit.
