On Monday, a hotel fire in the Pahalgam region of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district claimed the life of an elderly visitor from the Dehrdun area of Uttarakhand and wounded four hotel workers.

A hotel in the Pahalgam region caught fire today, and four hotel personnel were injured while trying to put out the blaze. A missing elderly tourist was staying at the hotel with her family.

He said that the corpse of 75-year-old Dehradun resident Bhupinder Gill was discovered inside the hotel not long after the fire was extinguished.
Hotel workers Mehraan Parry (25), from Seer Anantnag, Yasir Ahmad (24), from Katsoo Bijbehara, Naveed Ahmad Lone (20), from Pahalgam, and Tariq Ahmad Bhat (27), from Laripora Pahalgam, were injured.

Three workers have been released from the hospital, while another is still receiving treatment, according to the official.

They said that they had begun investigating the fire’s origins.
