On May 7, a 26-year-old man was electrocuted while installing CCTV cameras in the Sopore region of the Baramulla district in north Kashmir. He died on May 18.

The teenagers were installing CCTV cameras for a local army unit near the camp in Sopore town when they got the electric shock, according to a report from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

He claimed that after the incident, a young man named Danish was transported to a local hospital and then sent to Srinagar for further care.

However, Danish eventually died from his wounds on day 11, the official said.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer informed KNO that Danish died this morning from the severe injuries he sustained on May 7 as a result of an unintended electric shock.

“The local government, police, and army gave the family with all the necessary aid when the wounded young man was hospitalised. Additionally, he said, “the family is receiving all the assistance they need.” —(KNO)
