Srinagar, June 7: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday appointed Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal to the position of police head of the Union Territory of Ladakh. Jamwal formerly served as Additional Director General of Police.
According to a claim by a local news agency known as Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Jamwal has been relocated from Jammu and Kashmir to the territory of Ladakh. The story cited an order as its source.
“With the approval of the competent authority, Dr. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, IPS (AGMUT: 1995), Additional Director General of Police, is transferred from Jammu and Kashmir and appointed as Head of Police, UT of Ladakh with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and until further orders,” the order stated. “This appointment is effective from the date of assumption of charge of the post and will remain in effect until further orders.”
