Following his visit to the Corps Commander House in Lahore, which had been looted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demonstrators, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reportedly ordered the Punjab government to rapidly proceed and arrest the perpetrators within 72 hours.

Following a meeting at the Punjab Safe City Authority Headquarters in Lahore, Sharif said, “I have given law enforcement apparatus a target of 72 hours to arrest all those involved in facilitating, abetting and perpetrating the disgraceful incidents of arson, ransacking, sabotage and damaging public and private properties,” as reported by Geo News. He assured them that every tool at their disposal is being used to track down and eliminate these criminals.

“This is a test case for the government whether they really bring these guys to justice. According to Geo News, he stated, “their cases will be tried by the anti-terrorism courts” and that acts of terrorism of such kind will not be tolerated.Sharif stated the whole country is mourning the loss of Jinnah House after the unrest on May 9 sparked by the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The ninth of May was a day of terrible happenings. It’s disappointing to see the Corps Commander House, also known as the Jinnah House, in such disrepair, as the Prime Minister put it.

According to Geo News, Sharif publicly criticised his predecessor Imran Khan, calling him and his “mob” equal to anti-Pakistan forces.”Those involved in terrorist activities should be convicted as per the law,” Sharif remarked. In addition, he promised that the law would enforce itself with a “iron hand” on the criminals. PTI thugs accomplished in a decade what the enemy took seventy-five years to accomplish. There was a plot to harm government property, he claimed.
