Bandipora: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has been able to put a smile on the faces of many formerly homeless people in Panchayat Dardpora, a remote area of Block Arin in District Bandipora with a preponderantly tribal population.

The Prime Minister’s Aay Yojana (PMAY) is the government of India’s most prominent rural development initiative. The Mission provides a pucca home to those in the EWS/LIG and MIG categories to help alleviate the urban housing crisis.

Of the forty PMAY cases allowed by the Panchayat Dardpora, twenty-eight have been finished as of the present; of these, twelve are placed in the Gabipathri habitation, which has emerged as a cluster of PMAY homes.

Dr. Owais Ahmad, Bandipora’s District Development Commissioner (DDC), gave a presentation on the district’s progress under the PMAY on Thursday. He reported that 1,361 households had received their third PMAY installment, meaning that their homes were finally finished.

He said that the upcoming PMAY housing development in the outlying community of Gabipathri is a major turning point that will lead to noticeable improvements in residents’ quality of life. He continued by saying the landmark exemplifies the government’s dedication to bettering the lives of its inhabitants by making homes more accessible to those in need in Bandipora at a reasonable price.

The recipients spoke during the event, recounting how their lives had changed from one of struggle and difficulty to one of contentment and joy since moving into their Pucca homes. They also discussed the beneficial effects their new homes have had on their life, particularly their children’s academic performance. The PRIs, RDD officers, District Administration, and Government were also thanked for their assistance.

The officials and field functionaries of the Rural Development Department, PRIs, and the local people of the Panchayats have worked together and coordinated their efforts to achieve the record number of housing completions under PMAY. The DDC thanked everyone involved for their hard work and commitment to getting to this important point.
