On Friday, June 16th, in T-Chowk, Banihal, naka checking led to the recovery of 10 grammes of heroin and Rs 10,000 in cash, prompting the arrest of two individuals by Ramban police.
Two pedestrians were reportedly caught by the police team of T-Chowk Naka Banihal during regular checking as they made their way from the road leading to the Banihal train station. According to them, security checks turned up 10 grammes of heroin, $10,000 in cash, two syringes, and some foil paper.

Authorities reported the immediate arrest of Saqib Nazir, a resident of Malwat Changloo, Banihal, and Muzaffar Ahmed, a resident of Karawah Banihal (now known as Gujjar Nagar, Jammu). They claimed that illegal goods were confiscated in front of Magistrate Banihal, the Executive Magistrate.

At Police Station Banihal, a First Information Report (FIR) No. 142/2023 has been filed under the provisions of sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act.
