According to Adv. Mohd Majid Malik, “most deaths today are due to tobacco use.” It is the leading cause of cancer and many other fatal illnesses. Although there are a number of anti-smoking regulations on the books, public knowledge of them is low.

Malik further, saying, “The World Health Organisation has set a target to create awareness among people with the theme of ‘Tobacco and Lung Health,'” which is why “World No Tobacco Day” is observed annually.

He discussed the various tobacco products and their negative health impacts. He strongly discouraged any and all pupils from engaging in drug usage. Students pledged on that day to abstain from cigarettes and other addictive substances forever.

Students competed in a slogan writing contest, showcasing their originality with a variety of anti-smoking messages.

Adv. Mohd Majid Malik said that the 31st of May has been designated as World No Tobacco Day since a resolution was issued by the World Health Assembly in 1987.

To protect the general public, especially women and children, and employees from secondhand cigarette smoke, Anti-cigarette Day promotes smoke-free zones that are 100 percent smoke-free. The primary objective of this day is to raise public consciousness regarding the dangers of tobacco smoking, the diseases it may cause, and the ways in which these can be avoided.

The NDPS Act, or the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985, is a federal law that makes it illegal to “produce, manufacture, cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and/or consume” certain substances.
