A seventh-grade girl in the Budgam area of central Kashmir reported being sexually harassed by her teacher on June 22, leading authorities to make an arrest.
The girl’s father was quoted by saying that his daughter had collapsed upon returning home from school.
He stated the doctor advised them to check up on their kid to make sure she was doing well. He claimed, “When we asked her about it, she started crying and said a teacher had been harassing her at school.”
Meanwhile, the accused teacher’s loved ones have called for swift and severe punishment.
According to a police officer, the educator was taken into custody and a case FIR no. 75/2023 under section 354 (attack or force with lady with purpose to outrage her modesty) was filed.
In the meanwhile, the chief education officer in Budgam has ordered the teacher’s suspension until the results of the investigation.
According to the order, Abdul Rasheed Mir of RReT High School Rawalpora Zone Hardpanzoo is suspended “with immediate effect and is attached to this office till further orders” while an investigation into serious charges is conducted.
