Srinagar, 21 June The Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, met with the SDRF, NDRF, JKAP, and CRPF’s Mountaineer Rescue Teams (MRTs), bomb disposal squads, and dog squad handlers, and reviewed their readiness for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023 today in Srinagar, according to a press release.

The DGP assured the support teams that his officers and jawans are well-trained, and he hoped they would use their expertise to help the pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Ji yatra when they needed it. He emphasised the need of planning ahead for drills and emphasised that he will be there to see the simulated drills and joint exercises. Before the Yatra even began, he ordered an all-inclusive aid strategy to be drafted.

The DGP stressed the need of MRTs and other involved agencies changing their mindset while engaging with Yatris or doing any kind of aid work. He promised that the successful efforts of the deployment/assistance teams will be recorded for posterity. The DGP, reflecting on his time spent with the SDRF, provided insight into the organization’s growth and noted the force’s impressive performance across a variety of support missions.
