Around 50,000 devotees have made the journey to the holy cave temple of Amarnath so far, and on Tuesday, July 4th, the fifth batch of 6,597 pilgrims set off from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the Valley.

An official informed News Agency that 49,212 persons had finished the yatra as of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, including 13,581 who had visited the cave shrine that day.

According to reports, 6,597 pilgrims (4,975 males, 1,429 females, 160 seers, and 33 children) travelled in 253 light and heavy trucks from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp to the valley.

According to reports, “4,475 pilgrims, headed for Pahalgam,” in a convoy of 160 cars for the valley, were the first to depart for the Baltal base camp, followed by another convoy of 93 vehicles carrying 2,122 pilgrims.

He further said that all necessary safety precautions had been taken to ensure a trouble-free and secure yatra.

The pilgrims are happy with the improvements made by the government; they report cleaner restrooms and better maintained pathways.

“This is my 30th Amarnath yatra, and for the first time, the paths leading to the cave are in better shape than they were when we left in the wee hours of the morning. Mitlaish Bhatia, a 59-year-old traveller, praised the accommodations as “excellent” in general.

Meanwhile, CRPF DG Sujoy Lal Thaosen on Tuesday inspected the security measures in place for the current Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu. While there, he spoke with devotees and solicited their opinions at the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas.

While visiting Baltal, DG @crpfindia @sthaosen followed the convoy from Bhagwati nagar to continue his inspection of SANJY security procedures. Before continuing on to Qazigund and Mirbazar camps, he saw the exchange of the convoy at Lamber and Banihal.
