18 May, Srinagar: For the G-20 meeting in Kashmir, the J&K Health Department set up a division-level control room and clinic.

The facilities along the 47-kilometer Srinagar-Gulmarg route have been improved, according to health authorities who spoke to the news outlet Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Dr. Mir Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, and Nodal Officer for Health at the G20 Summit meet in Kashmir, assured KNO that all essential equipment and machinery has been installed.

To guarantee round-the-clock access to medical treatment, he added, “a team of doctors has been constituted to ensure availability of drugs, ambulances, and other facilities.”

He said that improvements had been made to the healthcare facilities at Sub District Hospital Magam, Sub District Hospital Tangmarg, and Primary Health Centre Gulmarg.

The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has established a 24-hour operations centre in the Chief Medical Office in Srinagar’s Old Secretariat. The control centre would oversee all G20-related healthcare operations in the valley, he added.

Spokesperson for DHSK Kashmir, Dr. Mir Mushtaq, has said that specially equipped clinics have been set up in strategic locations and that physicians have been given training in emergency care.

We will make sure that the highest quality medical treatment is available for the dignitaries that are coming. “Our goal is to provide medical care that is on par with the best in the world,” Dr. Mir stated.

A fake emergency medical services (EMS) simulation, he claimed, has already been conducted to assess the state of health care readiness at predetermined sites in the aftermath of the G20 Summit activities in Kashmir.

Dr. Mushtaq said that the health department will soon receive recommendations from the Nodal Officers and deputed employees, which would include prominent physicians.(KNO)
