SRINAGAR, MAY 21: In this month’s “Awaam Ki Awaaz” radio show, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha thanked J&K UT residents for their support of the G20.

“G20’s 3rd tourism working group meeting starting May 22nd is a historic opportunity for 13 million J&K UT citizens to showcase priceless culture, heritage, tourism, and warm hospitality. The Lt. Governor encouraged everyone to attend this historic occasion.

G20 nations account for 85% of global GDP, 75% of global commerce, and 60% of global population. The Lt Governor said that such a meeting would strengthen Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam worldwide and expedite Jammu Kashmir’s socio-economic development.

In Amrit Kaal, we will construct Atmanirbhar Jammu Kashmir. He stated that the historic G20 conference would inspire future Jammu Kashmir generations and instill fresh zeal and confidence in society.

The Lt Governor praised the District administration Bandipora, villagers, and Pune-based civil society organisation for their innovative effort to rehabilitate Aragam hamlet on Wular lake.

Aragam will become India’s biggest Book Village with community engagement. He noted that the library would include literature in six languages, historical manuscripts, and artworks to teach visitors about J&K’s history and traditional culture.

The Lt Governor commended the farmers of Sagam village, Anantnag, for restoring Mushkbudji, a fragrant heritage crop. He stated Sagam Mushk Budji Farmers Producer Company would revitalise J&K’s most prized crop.

The Lt Governor highlighted Kathua and Anantnag women entrepreneurs Neelam Rani and Gowhar Jabeena and Udhampur’s Rohit Salaria.

Anantnag’s Gowhar Jabeena founded Kashmir’s first Kiwi nursery, Green Posh Nursery Unit. The Lt Governor stated her successes in an untapped area inspire residents and aspiring businesses.

He noted that Kathua’s Neelam Rani’s business spirit has empowered local women and expanded Basohli Pashmina Shawl sales.

The Lt Governor said young entrepreneurs like Rohit Salaria of Udhampur inspire other youngsters to become job creators and provide greater room for young entrepreneurs. Rohit Salaria established a food processing plant under PM’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme.

He praised Basohli painter Sohan Singh Billawaria for mentoring young painters and perpetuating the tradition.

Dr. Rizwan Rumi of Kulgam and Ehsan Quddusi of Pulwama suggested creating an institutional system to educate, train, and fund young horticultural entrepreneurs, which the Lt Governor shared.

He praised Srinagar’s Saima Mushtaq and Jammu’s Sanchaita Pradhan for helping develop rural Jammu Kashmir’s indigenous arts and crafts. Doda’s Humerah Balwan, Samba’s Ridham Gupta, and Jammu’s Apurva Mishra wrote on girl empowerment. Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Anantnag and Dr. Kumar Sourabh of Jammu advised youngsters to save water and rejuvenate lakes.

The Lt Governor ordered agencies and authorities to act on public ideas.
