The National Investigation Agency (NIA) reportedly filed the case last year after learning that banned terrorist groups had planned to use sticky bombs, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and small guns in terrorist strikes throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

Prior to this revelation, the CIA had claimed that the plots were part of a bigger scheme by these terrorist organisations to perpetrate acts of terror and violence in Jammu and Kashmir in conjunction with local youth and overground personnel.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been searching several buildings in Jammu and Kashmir on June 26 in connection with a terror probe it opened last year, according to local authorities.

NIA is a specialist law enforcement outfit that combat terrorism. The Ministry of Home Affairs has officially decreed that the agency may investigate terrorism-related crimes in any country without requiring individual countries to provide their permission.
