According to reports from the BBC, Major General Dick Olum of the Ugandan army told the media that some of the male students had either been burned to death or hacked to death.
He further said that the gang had kidnapped other students from the school, most of whom were female.
DNA testing will be required in order to determine the identities of some of the dead, since some of them are alleged to have suffered severe burns.
