On Thursday, the Special Investigation Unit of Police in Shopian attached the residential residence of an accused Lashkar e Toiba terrorist member in Anantnag district. This action was taken after the Special Investigation Unit of Police in Shopian obtained the requisite sanctions from the relevant authorities.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) issued a statement saying that the Shopian unit, under the close supervision of the DIG SIU Kashmir, SSP Shopian, and DySP CIO SIU Shopian, attached the residential house of a terrorist associate in the Subhanpora, Bijbehera area of Anantnag district. This action was taken in continuation of the SIU’s crackdown on those who harbour terrorists and provide logistical support.

In light of this, the SIU Shopian has commenced the procedure for the attachment of property belonging to the aforementioned accused individuals that falls within the purview of profits of terrorism in accordance with section 25 of the UA(P) Act.
“The general public is once again advised not to harbour or provide shelter to terrorists and their associates in their homes or premises,” the statement stated. “The general public is also advised not to extend logistics to terrorists and their associates.”
