Kupwara, May 27: The Education Department has withheld a woman teacher’s pay and asked her to explain her role after she was reportedly caught using an unknown app to falsify attendance.

The Zonal Education Officer Rajwar in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district issued an order today ordering a female teacher, Shabena Nazir, to divulge the app she has been using to falsify attendance.

“You have been taking attendance on the JK Attendance SED App from a location other than the location coordinates of your current posting.”

The order states that despite using an unknown app to track your attendance today, you were deemed absent today. “Your behaviour has been taken seriously, and it demonstrates that you have been using proxy with the JK Attendance SED App, which is contrary to the norms and guidelines of the Directorate of School Education Kashmir.”

The Zonal Education Officer has also instructed the Institution’s head to explain his stance and why he failed to notify the department.

The ZEO Rajwar has instructed the erring teacher to tell him of the software she has been using to create fraudulent attendance on the JK Attendance SED App by May 29, otherwise her pay would be withheld till then. [KNT]
