Mumbai, June 27: The schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India, and the ten sites for the 46-day event have been made public.

On October 5, England plays New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in a rematch of the 2019 World Cup Final.

Australia, which has won the World Cup five times, will be the first team India plays on October 8 in Chennai.

There will be a total of 10 teams at the main game. Eight of them have already qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The last two spots will be decided after the qualifying event in Zimbabwe ends on July 9.

In a round-robin system, each team plays each of the other nine teams. The top four teams move on to the playoff stage and semi-finals.

Aside from the exciting first match and India’s match against 2019 semi-finalists Australia, there are a lot of other important matches in the event.

Australia will play South Africa on October 13 in Lucknow, looking for a change in luck after the Proteas won a close match in the last version.

The much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan will take place on October 15 in Ahmedabad. Their last match at the 2019 World Cup was in Manchester. It was a high-scoring game, and India won by a big margin.

On October 20, Pakistan will play Australia in Bengaluru. The next day, on October 21, England will play South Africa in Mumbai.

India will play New Zealand on October 22 in Dharamsala to try to get revenge for losing the 2019 semi-finals. On November 4, Australia will play their biggest foes, England, in Ahmedabad. Four years ago, the reigning winners crushed the Aussies to storm into the final.

India will wait for England in Lucknow on October 29. Last year, England beat India in the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup.

On November 12, England will play Pakistan in the last match of the group stage in Kolkata.

The first semi-final will be held in Mumbai on November 15, and the second will be held in Kolkata the next day. There will be a backup day for both of the semi-finals.

The Final will be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. November 20 has been set aside as a backup date.

All three knockout games will be played during the day and night. All three games will start at 14:00 local time.
