Rohtas, June 10: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday urged the country’s young, energised brains to come up with new ideas and inventions to assist the government in creating India a developed nation by 2047, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned.

On Saturday, he spoke at the convocation ceremony of Gopal Narayan Singh University in the Bihar district of Rohtas. According to Rajnath Singh, India has entered its golden age and is accelerating at an unparalleled rate to become a developed country by the end of ‘Amrit Kaal’ in 2047.

“India’s economy has expanded tremendously.” India has reached the world’s top five economies. According to a Morgan Stanley estimate, India will be among the world’s top three economies by 2027,” Rajnath Singh stated.

He also discussed the evolution of the country’s start-up ecosystem, stating that the number of start-ups has risen to about one lakh now, including over 100 unicorns, from only 500 seven-eight years ago.

“The youth has the potential and capability to take the nation to greater heights and contribute to the betterment of humanity,” he said emphatically.
Rajnath Singh also advised students to prioritise connecting with the country’s customs, beliefs, and traditions above getting education and information.

“Your values are not only your identity in the world, but also your parents’, teachers’, and country’s,” he said.

The Defence Minister urged the students to focus on character development, emphasising that in India, a person’s worth is measured not only by his or her knowledge, but also by values and conduct, as well as how skillfully that expertise is employed.

“Ego, overconfidence, and a self-centered attitude are some of the biggest roadblocks to growth,” he said, adding that the goal should be to go ahead while bringing everyone along for the ride.

Rajnath Singh advised students to continue spiritually nurturing themselves, while educational institutions nurtured them academically and mentally.

He also urged the teaching profession to keep the everlasting flame of learning burning in the hearts and brains of pupils.

He regarded it as the most important aspect of an individual’s personality, since it assures not only personal progress but also the development of society.
