Awantipora: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) launched PMKVY 4.0 on Thursday and inaugurated the Kalam Academy of Skill Development and Training.

According to an IUST release, on the occasion, the main guest, Principal Secretary Higher Education Alok Kumar, complimented the IUST on its efforts towards the execution of the skilling mission via the government’s flagship project.

He said that the plan seeks to overcome skill gaps, ensure young employment, and contribute to the country’s growth and prosperity.

Nothing, according to Kumar, is more empowering than learning new talents that lead to new chances.

The principal visitor afterwards took a tour of the campus’s various facilities and praised the university’s progress.

He paid a visit to CIED and launched skill development courses in the departments of Food Sciences and Technology and Computer Science and Engineering.

Kumar praised IUST’s accomplishments and congratulated Vice Chancellor Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo and Director CIED on receiving a 3.5 star ranking from the Institution Innovation Council of the Ministry of Education, GoI, in recognition of their efforts to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and start-up culture.

Prof Romshoo, Vice Chancellor of IUST, expressed gratitude to the government for its support of IUST’s activities in his remarks.
