Ganderbal, June 14: Iftikhar Hussain is being honoured at his home hamlet of Sharchay, located in the Kargil region of the Ladakh union territory.The residents of Iftikhar’s little hamlet are making a beeline to his house to offer their congratulations. The Ladakh UT NEET champion is Iftikhar Hussain Demo. Iftikhar got a 619 on a 720-point scale. He participated in Dakshana Foundation’s year-long training programme. According to Greater Kashmir’s interviews with locals, the hamlet, which is located distance from the district capital of Kargil, has not even received basic road and cell connection. They advocated for better educational opportunities for pupils in rural regions by advocating for government investment in infrastructure.
It’s like I’m in a dream. “Both my family and I had made many concessions,” Iftikhar said. I attended to a public elementary, middle, and high school in Sharchay until eighth grade, and then I continued my education in Kargil, said Iftikhar.
He spoke about how important it was to have good instructors to help him along the way in school. “Hard work and consistency were my success mantra,” Iftikhar said, giving credit to the teachers who had helped him along the way.
He argued that the greatest and most competent educators are employed by the government, and that in order to help pupils, the government should invest in improving school facilities.
Iftikhar Hussain Demo, a resident of Sharchey(Silmoo Constituency) in Kargil, has scored the highest in NEET 2023 for the whole Union Territory of Ladakh. LAHDC Kargil Chief Executive Councillor Feroz Ahmed Khan tweeted, “On behalf of my constituents, I wish you a very bright future ahead.”
