The Indian Premier League has welcomed back a popular Kashmiri willow brand.

The Khan International Sports (KIS) franchise has returned to the Indian Premier League. Fazal Haq Farooqi of the Sunrisers Hyderabad is the next professional cricketer to use a KIS bat after Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh.

The company’s owner, Firdous Ahmad Khan, said his family has been making bats for local players since the 1990s, as reported by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

He said that he took over the production and marketing of cricket equipment for international teams at the “Khan International Sports” business in 2017.

“Our brand has been already accepted at international level as international players like Tajul Islam from Bangladesh, Shahzad Ahmad from Afghanistan, and women cricketers from West Indies and Bangladesh have been using our brand,” he said.

Khan said he began making connections and eventually opened a facility in Meerut, which is well known as a centre for cricket equipment. We are importing clefts of English willow to use in the production of bats and other goods.

Firdous continued the promotion of bats and other accessories on a global scale after beginning the same effort from his home in Pujteng Sangam Anantnag. “Most of the staff here is concerned more with output than quality. That’s why it was crucial to produce high-quality bats and market them on a global scale,” he said.

We have been in contact with famous cricketers from all across the world. We expect that major cricket figures will soon be wearing our brand on the world stage,” Khan said.

He said that the only person who helped him promote his brand was the Kashmiri international cricketer Parvez Rasool.

“KIS is now fielding product inquiries from many nations and shipping items on a regular basis. According to Khan, “the company employs about 50 people, the vast majority of whom are locals, and it has sponsored more than 100 talented cricketers in Kashmir.” (KNO)
