Srinagar, 5 June: The University of Kashmir was placed 33rd among institutions in the nation evaluated under the National Institutional Ranking Framework-2023, according to the findings revealed today by the Union Education Ministry in New Delhi.
From Rank 53 in the 2022 NIRF ranking of institutions, the University of Kashmir has risen 20 places to Rank 33 in the current year’s rating, with a point total of 53.08, up from 48.27 the previous year.
In this year’s NIRF, the KU ranks 58 (at a point score of 50.77) among overall institutions assessed under NIRF, which includes universities, colleges, engineering, technology, and management institutions, research and pharmacy institutions, and so on. The previous year’s overall rank was 84 (at a point score of 45.98). Notably, KU is the only university from the Jammu and Kashmir UT to be named to the NIRF’s list of the top 100 universities (all institutions reviewed).
The University performed much higher in the current year’s rating in areas such as Research and Professional Practises (RP), Combined Metric for Faculty with PhD (FQE), and Financial Resources and Utilisation (FRU), among others.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan congratulated the University’s teachers, non-teaching staff, research researchers, and students on their tireless efforts to attain academic excellence with tremendous drive and devotion.
