Kulgam, May 6: Kulgam Police while continuing its unwaverinefforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and the back to back actions against the drug peddlers are being taken out in the district with the aim of bringing drug peddling to the zero level .
In this regard; Police party headed by SHO police station Kulgam during patrolling spotted a suspicious person at Adpora crossing, Kulgam who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. After checking officers present were able to recover 11 Bottles of Codeine phosphate* from his possession. His identity has been ascertained as Sameer Ahmad Malik@Alias Gama S/O Mohd Sikander Malik R/O Bongam, Kulgam.
Regarding the incident, case with FIR No. 90/2023 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation is in progress.
