Special language translators from the University of Kashmir (KU) and several degree institutions of J&K will assist the delegates from international nations attending the G20 summit at the SKICC in Srinagar from May 22-24 in communicating effectively.

Since the summit is expected to draw dignitaries from all around the globe, having competent interpreters there will help eliminate communication barriers between attendees of different native tongues.

According to a high-ranking official, KU has sent instructors trained as translators to help with the translation of speeches.

The official at KU said, “A group of teachers who understand French, German, Arabic, and Persian have been sent for translation of speeches.”

He said that the university has arranged accommodations for G20 summit visitors from outside Kashmir.

Special translators from KU and other degree institutions, it was reported by an official, had received training to guarantee a fast and correct translation of the G20 talks.

The G20 summit, famous for its focus on pressing worldwide problems and its promotion of international collaboration, would attract attendees speaking a wide variety of languages.

The university and college-based interpreters, the official added, “are well-equipped to handle diverse languages, facilitating smooth communication and promoting fruitful dialogue among the attendees.”

In addition to the specialised translators, students from degree-granting institutions throughout J&K will be presenting cultural programmes and participating in other events.

During the G20 summit, the Department of Culture in J&K has arranged for a group of college students from around the state to perform a variety of cultural things. An HED official has confirmed that in addition to classroom work, pupils would be involved in extracurricular activities.

The official said that the cultural artefacts will provide the summit a splash of colour and variety while also giving the attendees a taste of Kashmir’s storied past.

The official acknowledged that the event’s overall success might be attributable to the fact that “some students may be engaged in different activities throughout the event.”

The Tourism Division has also sent a delegation of students from the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) to take part in the celebration.

We were requested to provide the Tourism Department with the names of seven or eight students to represent at the G20 meeting. We’ve sent the list, and these students may be contacted for participation,” said a senior member of the IUST administration.
