The 7th of June in Srinagar: The political authorities of Jammu and Kashmir have been quite welcoming to the Hajj pilgrims.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference and Member of Parliament for Srinagar, and his brother, Vice President Omar Abdullah, have sent greetings to the believers leaving Jammu and Kashmir for the Hajj.

During their religious journey, the two have requested for prayers for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, namely for their safety, security, and prosperity.

Al-Bukhari, Syed Mohammad Altaf

President of the Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari sent his warmest wishes to all the aspirants of Jammu and Kashmir who are making the pilgrimage to Hajj this year as the first group of pilgrims from the state set off on their solemn trip.

A call for the pilgrims to pray for Jammu and Kashmir’s continued peace and prosperity was made by the Apni Party President in his speech to the group. The Lord bless you and guide you on your precious trip, he prayed. For the sake of Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has struggled with hardships for quite some time, I sincerely ask that you all pray for permanent stability and growth in that region. To everyone of you, may Allah shower his favour and strengthen your faith. “Best wishes on your religious journey,”

Professor Saifuddin Soz

On Wednesday, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, a former Union Minister and prominent Congress leader, sent his warmest wishes to all the J&K pilgrims who would soon be making the sacred trip to Mecca to conduct the Hajj.

In a statement, he urged all attending the pilgrimage to keep the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their prayers, namely for long-term peace, prosperity, and well-being.

“May God’s favour and the light of spiritual realisation and illumination shine upon you and guide you on this holy path. For the sake of Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has struggled with hardships for quite some time, I sincerely ask that you all pray for permanent stability and growth in that region. To everyone of you, may Allah shower his favour and strengthen your faith. Soz also wished the traveller well on his or her religious journey, saying, “Congratulations.”
