The temperature in Srinagar dropped to 17.3 degrees Celsius, down from 17.8 the night before.

Srinagar, 5 July: Even though several parts of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to get light to moderate rain and thunderstorms intermittently during the day, the nighttime temperatures have dropped in some places and risen in others.

According to GNS, which cited a meteorological department official, several locations may see showers and thunderstorms of varying intensities over the following day. He predicted that several areas of J&K will have mild to moderate rain on and off from the 6th to the 8th of July. “Some places in the plains of the Jammu region may receive moderate to heavy spells during morning hours,” he said.

According to him, today’s low in Srinagar was 17.3 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees Celsius higher than average for the summer capital. This compares to the previous night’s low of 17.8 degrees Celsius.

He reported that Qazigund, the valley’s entry point, had a low temperature of 17.0 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than average.

He said that the temperature at Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, dropped to an abnormally high 11.6 degrees Fahrenheit (10.3 degrees Celsius) on Tuesday night.

He said that the temperature in Kupwara town dropped to 15.4 degrees Celsius at night, down from 16.0 the night before, and 0.1 degrees Celsius lower than average for the region of north Kashmir.

Kokernag’s low temperature was 16.3 degrees Fahrenheit, 1.4 degrees above usual, compared to 15.2 degrees the night before.

He reported a temperature drop in J&K’s winter capital of Jammu to 22.8 degrees Fahrenheit (-6.7 degrees Celsius) from the previous night’s high of 26.7 degrees.

The official said that the lowest temperature recorded was 18.3 degrees Celsius (2.0 degrees Celsius over normal) in Banihal, 18.3 degrees Celsius (0.8 degrees Celsius above normal) in Batote, 21.8 degrees Celsius (0.2 degrees Celsius below normal) in Katra, and 17.8 degrees Celsius (1.8 degrees Celsius above normal) in Bhaderwah
