KU hosts a Cross-Country Meet on the North Campus

On June 24th, a Cross Country Race was held in Srinagar, beginning in Sonawar and ending at Nehru Park through the Shankaracharya Hills, with the race being hosted by the Department of Management Studies (DMS) on the North Campus of the University of Kashmir.

Director of North Campus Professor Bashir Ahmad Ganai threw the starting flag in the presence of Campus Department Coordinators.

One hundred and fifty Management Studies majors and fifteen nominated students from other departments took part in the Run.

The event was well-organized thanks to the efforts of the whole Department’s teachers and the North Campus’s support team.

Prof. Bashir Ahmad Ganie, who gave the keynote address, extended his best wishes to everyone present and reassured them that the Campus will be investing in the facilities they would need to thrive. He also encouraged pupils to take part in forthcoming athletic and extracurricular activities for the sake of their overall well-being.

Prof Bashir congratulated everyone who took part and praised the work of the Sports Club, DMS, North Campus’s Dr. Viqar-u-Nissa, Dr. Idrees-Ul-Islam, Dr. Sumaya, Dr. Feroz, and Dr. Shazia.

First place went to IMBA 9th semester student AuqibFayaz, second to IMBA 4th semester student Syed Qamar, and third to IMBA 7th semester student DawarMuneer. SaninaManzoor, a fourth-semester IMBA student, was the first female runner to finish the race.

At the conclusion of the race, a prize distribution ceremony was conducted, during which Prof. Bashir Ahmad Ganai presented trophies to the winning teams and participation certificates to all of the students.
