Srinagar, June 6: National Conference President and Srinagar MP Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah welcomed people to the Annual 131st Urs Observance of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Qayanwi Naqshbandi (RA), which will be held on June 7 and 8 at his revered Shrine in Baba Nagri Kangan.
“Baba Ji’s thoughts have moulded people’s minds for more than a century, establishing a culture of utmost religious toleration, brotherhood, compassion with an abiding faith in the omnipresence of God and profound love for the Holy Messenger (SAW),” Dr Farooq stated in his message. On the Urs, I express my best wishes to everyone, hoping that the day brings more peace and prosperity to the area.”
In his speech, Omar Abdullah said, “The Urs reunites people of various faiths and strengthens bonds of friendship among them.” “The influence of Sufi teachings like Hazrat Nizam ud Din Qayanwi Sahib (RA) based on Syncretic values and universal brotherhood has left an indelible mark on Kashmir,” he said, adding, “I pray that the auspicious day serves as a harbinger of peace in the entire region.”
