Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged the police and civil administration on Thursday to concentrate on delivering the people’s dreams and ambitions.

In a statement issued here, an official spokesman said that while interacting with senior officials of the Kashmir division’s police and civil administration and commending their efforts in the successful conduct of the G20 meeting in Srinagar, the LG said, “G20 meeting and enthusiasm of all sections of society reflects aspirations of the people.” To make J&K strong and profitable, everyone must work together. All authorities, civil and police, should be focused on achieving people’s expectations and dreams.”

He said that the credit for the successful G20 summit should go to the team of officials who worked tirelessly on the ground.

“The entire civil and police administration showed excellent coordination,” Sinha said.

He said that the authorities’ transformational efforts demonstrated that J&K was now completely equipped to host international-level events.

“The G20 meeting has become a historic event for J&K and has set a standard for us to follow in the smooth execution of upcoming events such as the Amarnath Yatra.” “At the district level, we should develop a plan to ensure the smooth operation of all such events,” the LG remarked.

He asked the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to assess successes, examine project execution, saturation of welfare programmes, and progress under KCC in order to have a full picture of the advantages of development at the grass roots level.

Animal husbandry, agriculture, and the saturation of farmer programmes, according to Sinha, should be prioritised.

“It is critical to conduct in-depth analyses of both law and order and development progress.” “The DCs and SSPs can also play an important role in identifying industries that are best suited to their respective districts, as well as what more can be done in other sectors such as self-employment, agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors,” he said.

The LG also detailed the future vision, saying, “We should ensure exemplary punishment to those who engage in corruption, as well as wage a war against the menace of drug abuse.” We must stay steadfast in our pursuit of peace, growth, and prosperity for everyone.”

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh; Special DG CID, R R Swain; Principal Secretary to LG Mandeep Kumar Bhandari; Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; DCs, and SSPs were also present.
