President Droupadi Murmu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, June 27, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital, New Delhi.
Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Twitter account said, “Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.” Earlier today, PM sent off five Vande Bharat Express trains from the Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Bhopal. He made a strong case for a uniform law, saying that the country can’t work with two laws and that the Uniform Civil Code is part of the Constitution.
“In the name of UCC, people are being stirred up today. How can the country work with two sets of rules? Equal rights are also mentioned in the Constitution…UCC has also been asked to be used by the Supreme Court. “These (Opposition) people are trying to get votes by appealing to vote banks,” he said.
