The Jammu and Kashmir government fired two physicians on June 22 for allegedly working with Pakistan and forging post mortem findings for two girls named Asiya and Neelofar who were killed in Shopian in 2009.

An official with the Jammu and Kashmir government has confirmed the dismissal of doctors Bilal Ahmad Dalal and Nighat Shaheen Chilloo, saying they were instrumental in “distorting the post-mortem report of Asiya and Neelofar, two unfortunate individuals from Shopian who had met an untimely death due to accidental drowning on May 29, 2009.”

After investigating the suspects’ backgrounds, the official concluded that Drs. Bilal Ahmad Dalal and Nighat Shaheen Chilloo intended to “sow discord against the Indian state by falsely implicating the security forces in acts of rape and murder.”

The source said, “Shockingly, the research has shown that the upper echelons of the previous administration were aware of these facts, which were purposefully disguised while Kashmir underwent turbulence.

According to the source, the shocking nature of this discovery shows a possible cover-up of crucial information that may have impacted the outcome of events.
