When wrestlers revealed their intention to immerse their medals in Ganga, the Samajwadi Party broke its silence on their complaints.
Speaking on the wrestlers’ protest against former Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI) head Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Samajwadi Party (SP) head Akhilesh Yadav stated on Saturday that it was the Bharatiya Janata Party’s duty to guarantee women wrestlers get justice.
“The BJP should reconsider its ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ slogan,” he remarked. When female wrestlers demand justice, it is their [BJP’s] obligation to ensure that they get it.”

SP broke its silence on the wrestlers’ objections when the women wrestlers declared their intention to go to Haridwar to dip their medals in Ganga. In Hindi, Yadav tweeted, “This time, Mother Ganga has called the daughters.” “Today’s incident made it clear that all the BJP’s slogans on women’s safety and dignity were hollow and were only to grab women’s votes,” he tweeted on Sunday.
‘She pushed back’: Wrestling referee speaks out against claims against WFI’s Brij Bhushan Centre and requests a stay of proceedings till June 15.
The Centre has requested that the investigations be delayed until June 15, but wrestler Sakshi Malik said on Wednesday that the protest is not finished. Malik made the comment after meeting with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. “We have been asked to suspend our protest until the police investigation is completed by June 15,” she continued.

“We had a discussion on some issues,” stated wrestler Bajrang Punia. The police inquiry should be concluded by the 15th of June, and the minister has asked that we refrain from protesting until then. He also said that female wrestlers’ safety would be prioritised. We demanded that all FIRs filed against wrestlers be dismissed, and he agreed.”

Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, as well as Asian Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat, have called for the arrest of former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Brij Bhushan was the subject of two FIRs, one of which was returned by a young girl.

On May 10, the girl testified before a magistrate in New Delhi under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPc) against Brij Bhushan. The girl’s father said that the WFI leader physically drew her towards him and sexually molested her, leaving her profoundly upset and progressively complaining of health problems.

The girl’s father said in the FIR that Brij Bhushan squeezed her shoulder quite forcefully and purposefully slid his fingers beneath her shoulder. “You support me, I will support you,” the WFI head reportedly added. “Please keep in touch with me.”

The father, on the other hand, reportedly claimed that he and his daughter made “false allegations” against the Wrestling Federation of India leader.
