The Samba Police Department has made an arrest and reported finding heroin with a street value of Rs 15,000 on the 16th of June.

Aman Kumar Sharma, a guy from Katra, was detained on suspicion of being a narcotics dealer. The accused Aman was caught by police as he was leaving the notorious hotspot of Bari Brahmana, where he often went to purchase heroin. In the drug-affected districts of Samba District, police have increased patrols in an effort to catch heroin dealers.

SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma and PSI Rajat Sharma, supervised by SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, have apprehended the drug dealer.

According to Samba’s Senior Superintendent Benam Tosh, 50 infamous narco-suppliers and smugglers, including top inter-state heroin traffickers, have been captured in the district in the last five months, with many more being charged under relevant parts of the NDPS Act in separate FIRs.

Two more infamous heroin dealers have been arrested and locked up in accordance with the PITNDPS Act of 1988.

Meanwhile, authorities in Samba area are committed to eliminating the heroin problem once and for all, and are taking strong legal action against heroin traffickers, suppliers, and peddlers. At Police Station Bari Brahmana, a case FIR Number 139 of 2023 has been recorded under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
