In Ramban, at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Banihal, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, director of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), kicked off a five-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for budding businesspeople from the Ramban region.
Ramban’s administrative district is sponsoring this event in the name of the Skills and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) initiative.
Launched by the Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), SANKALP aims to improve youths’ access to high-quality, industry-relevant training programmes throughout the nation.
Inclusion of underserved groups in skill development activities; Quality assurance of skill development programmes; Institutional strengthening at national, state and district levels.
While it’s true that everyone here has received specialised training, every entrepreneur worth their salt has to be up-to-date on the ins and outs of running a firm. Learning about business principles like marketing and branding is just as crucial. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director, JKEDI, said, “Innovation and technology will define and distinguish your business.”
In order to operate their enterprises effectively, participants in the 5-day EDP will be educated on fundamental business principles such as business plan creation, marketing strategy, and account administration. Participants will gain from JKEDI’s carefully crafted training modules in addition to the short-term technical training they have previously received in their chosen industries.
The district administration’s overarching “Push Ramban” initiative, implemented under SANKALP, seeks to encourage youth employment by fostering a culture of learning and innovation among the young people of the district. District Ramban agencies have been working to recruit young people for intensive, short-term training programmes.
