In the Srinagar Municipal Limits, the School Times Have Been Adjusted
Seats for Graduate Medical Nursing students at Ramzan College of Nursing in Pampore have been increased by the government.

The J&K government approved an increase in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) seats at Ramzan College of Nursing in Gallandar Pampore, Pulwama district, on May 17 in Srinagar.

According to an order issued by the Secretary of Health, a copy of which can be seen at the offices of the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the number of students enrolled in General Nursing at the college has been increased from 40 to 80. This increase is the result of a 20-seat increase in GNM and a 20-seat merger of MMPHW.

The ruling stipulates that the temporary no objection certificate must be given under the following conditions: the Institute will not collect a capitation fee; and approval is contingent upon the Institute’s compliance with the requirements set out in the J&K Paramedical Council, Act, 2014. The J&K Paramedical Council shall conduct inspections of the institute, periodically, to monitor and assess the infrastructure in accordance with any policy on the subject, which the Government may sanction in the future for regulation of these Institutes; the eligibility of candidates for admission to the courses shall be determined on the basis of merit in accordance with the provisions laid down by the Government from time to time through the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination; and

For any infraction on the part of student(s) resulting in loss/damage to equipment/chemical etc., the Institute shall charge an amount of Rs.5000/-per trainee per session on account of providing hospital facility, and the amount so received shall be utilised for Hospital Development fund of the Hospital to which the Institute is attached. It will be within the Institute’s purview. Further, “the management of the institution shall execute an undertaking with the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital and the J&K Paramedical Council shall conduct examination of the trainees on the same pattern as in the case of trainees of AMT/ANMT Schools in the UT of J&K.” (KNO)
