Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake have been set at Rs 2700 per day (six hours). Similarly, tariffs from Ghats to several places have been set.

To make travel easier, the department has established particular prices for certain routes.

For example, a Shikara trip from Ghat 23, 24, and 25 to Hazratbal (Ruplank) costs Rs 1,400, while a journey to Charchinar (Sonalank) costs Rs 550.

A return ride from Nehru Park to Charchinar would cost Rs 1,300, while trips from the western Foreshore road Ghat to Nehru Park and Charchinar (Sonalank) will cost Rs 550 and Rs 1,500, respectively.

Furthermore, the rate card covers crossing fees for complete boat services. The first row of houseboats would charge Rs. 50 per Shikara. Crossing from Ghat 1 to 12 to Golden Lake costs Rs 75 per Shikara, while crossing from Ghat 13 and 17 to the rear row of houseboats costs Rs 100 each Shikara.

Crossing from Ghat 18 & 22 to Kabutar khana houseboat row would cost Rs. 100 per Shikara.

People who have questions or issues about the authorised rate card or associated services may contact the Department of Tourism at 0194-2502512 or 0194-2502276.

The installation of this clear tariff card, according to authorities, intends to offer visitors with clarity and trust while selecting for the gorgeous Shikara rides in Srinagar.

“By establishing standardised rates, the Tourism Department aims to eliminate overcharging and improve the overall tourism experience in the region,” they said.

Meanwhile, in an effort to combat overcharging and touting, the Tourism Department’s Enforcement Division today charged many offenders with violating different parts of the Tourist Trade Act for defrauding and overcharging visitors and tourists at various tourist destinations. Five FIRs were made against various offenders during the drive in Doodhpathri, Boulevard, Dal Gate, and other locations of Kashmir valley, and a fine of more than Rs 30000 was also collected. The Tourist Police also repaid a Rs 10,000 excess to tourists at Doodhpathri.
