“On this day, the 20th of June 2023, SIA KASHMIR was able to successfully conduct searches at six places throughout the Kashmir region in the Districts of Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, and Srinagar. “The searches were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation in case FIR No. 05/2023 of Police Station SIA/ CIK pertaining to misuse of social media platforms for unlawful and secessionist activities,” the SIA stated. “The investigation is looking into whether or not individuals used these platforms for unlawful and secessionist activities.”

The Social Intelligence Agency of India (SIA) has opened an investigation into allegations that social media firms operating in India are working together with their overseas colleagues to “spread hatred against India and promote terror activities.”

According to the statement, the predawn searches that were carried out by officials from the SIA had the objective of locating persons and organisations that were engaged in the dissemination of separatist and anti-Indian sentiments across a variety of social media platforms.

” The organisations that have been identified are suspected of conspiring with international accomplices in order to further their evil objective, which includes initiating and funding acts of terrorism. In addition, these organisations have been going after public officials, making it more difficult for them to carry out the legal responsibilities that are assigned to them, according to the statement.

The searches that were carried out by the SIA led to the confiscation of significant digital and physical evidence such as mobile phones, sim cards, and other such items. According to what was said, the evidence will be thoroughly examined in order to construct a compelling case against the persons and organisations that are being charged. This will ensure both a thorough investigation and the ensuing legal processes.
