20 June, Srinagar: The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar hosted a two-day symposium on “Precision Medicine in Allergic Disorders” as part of the Continued Medical Education Programme (2023) on Tuesday.
The World Allergy Organisation sponsored the massive event, which was coordinated by the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine. The two-day academic extravaganza attracted over 300 delegates from all around the world.
The debate about the next steps and the importance of allergy awareness and management were moderated by a number of national and worldwide luminaries in the area of allergy.
Dr. Farooq A. Jan, Medical Superintendent of SKIMS, was the event’s Chief Guest and presided over the closing ceremony.
Prof. (Dr.) Parvaiz Koul, Director of SKIMS, sent his congratulations to the department for hosting the massive event.
He said that the agency should regularly have such gatherings since they are urgently required. In addition to the several informative scientific sessions presided over by renowned doctors and researchers from across the globe, the event also included surprise quizzes and poster presentations.
Students from all throughout the university and beyond attended this intellectual feast with great enthusiasm.
Only three of the fourteen poster presenters were recognised for their outstanding work; they were Batool Zahra, Yawar Ashraf, and Sana Hafeez from Dr. Qadri’s College of MLT; Rabiya Sadeeq from Para Medical College SKIMS; and Dr. Anam Shameem Hakak from GMC.
In a similar vein, 10 attendees won prizes in the event’s unexpected quizzes.
Prof. Roohi Rasool served as the conference’s secretary. She expressed her gratitude to the event’s speakers and attendees.
