Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Srinagar, obtained the fifth position among agricultural institutions under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2023 of the Union Ministry of Education with a total score of 59.50.
According to a statement from SKUAST-K, together with IARI, NDRI, IVRI, and CIFE, it is rated ninth overall among the nation’s agricultural institutes. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, released the NIRF-2023 rankings and results on Monday in New Delhi.
The university’s rising trajectory of placement in the league of top agricultural schools of the nation has been furthered by its ability to consolidate and strengthen its position from 6th best SAU previous year.
Along with KU and JU, SKUAST-K is one of just three universities in J&K with the greatest overall cumulative score. The university has already achieved the “Band Excellent” ranking in the Atal Innovation Ranking.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, vice chancellor of SKUAST-K, praised all of the university’s ranks and cadres, including the administration, professors, students, and ministerial staff for driving the institution’s exceptional development during the last three years.
He claimed that the university had improved its academic and human resource output and stood out among the nation’s agricultural universities thanks to its renewed focus, vision, and mission based on creating nationally and internationally recognised academic and research programmes driven by reforms, innovation, translational research, and entrepreneurship.
Prof. Ganai said that the accomplishment was the result of cooperative cooperation, drawing on the complementary qualities of several academic and research divisions at the institution and having a substantial influence. He expressed the expectation that this would push the university’s rankings even further in the direction of excellence and assist it in obtaining funds and connections with top institutions of higher learning throughout the world.
Prof. Ganai said that SKUAST-K has lead the nation in developing a workable model of NEP-2020 and portraying India as a prospective location for higher education.
He said that the university had accomplished exceptional successes as a consequence of the higher academic standards, faculty accomplishments, and student success at the national and international levels, which had enhanced the institution’s rating.
