The development of a calamity Recovery Centre outside the J&K seismic zone, according to the spokesperson, would secure the complete data of the main site against any natural or technological calamity, with a backup at a secondary location in a separate seismic zone.

He said that it was critical to have a disaster recovery strategy in place to prevent catastrophe-related disruptions, making the construction of disaster recovery sites a crucial aspect of the system, particularly as the whole government’s functioning became digital.

The purpose of a disaster recovery plan, according to the spokesperson, is to sustain technical operations and promptly restore the capacity to do government business in the face of catastrophes such as floods, fires, earthquakes, or other unfavourable circumstances.
