Srinagar, 19 May: KPDCL’s Managing Director (MD) conducted a meeting of Officers today to discuss the power supply situation for the G20 Summit.

Senior officials of KPDCL briefed the chair on the completion of works relevant to the G20 Summit, the power supply situation for the next G20 Summit, and future action plans.

Various aspects of electricity supply for the next G20 conference were thoroughly considered.

Instructions were also provided to the relevant officials to prioritise the job and finish all outstanding tasks by this evening.

Directions were also given to the appropriate authorities to maintain greater communication with JKPDD sister wings for consistent power supply to the venues. Local officials must keep contact with the relevant SHO (Police) to ensure the smooth movement of personnel selected for the event and the maintenance of the power supply.

Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL; Superintending Engineer Circle 1st, 2nd, Ganderbal, and Sopore, KPDCL; Executive Engineers of O&M Div 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, KPDCL; and Executive Engineers of Sub-Transmission Div. 1st and 2nd, KPDCL attended the meeting.
The MD asked KPDCL officers to develop a deployment strategy for greater collaboration with the District Administration for emergency electricity services.

Concerned Executive Engineers were asked to contact the Senior Superintendent of Police (Security) in order to get security passes for all personnel who would be there around the clock.

The MD instructed the officers to have a backup plan in place in case of a disruption in the power supply. He also requested that Special Control Rooms be maintained around the clock during the summit.
