18 May, Srinagar: On Thursday, KU officials indicated they expect to get the CUET test site controversy’resolved’ by Friday.
Vice Chancellor Professor Nilofer Khan told the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the university has brought up the CUET examination centre problem with the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Higher Education Department.
We have brought this up with the National Transport Authority, the Higher Education Department, and the J&K government. Given the favourable responses we’ve seen from both parties, I expect this to be addressed by Friday,” Khan added.

She also told us that the Department of Higher Education has already brought up the issue with NTA, and that it would likely be rectified by Friday.

In this context, it is worth noting that hundreds of CUET hopefuls have complained to the NTA about being forced to take the test in locations outside of Jammu and Kashmir rather than where they would have chosen to take it.

The applicants said that the admission exam centres that they requested, all located in Jammu and Kashmir, were instead located in neighbouring states.

Earlier, a number of applicants for the last session of the National Eligibility Test (NET) claimed that they were prevented from taking the exam because their chosen test locations were moved from Jammu and Kashmir to other states (KNO).
